Educational Programme

In September and October 2021, as part of the First International Pacific Theatre Festival, an extensive Educational Programme was held in Vladivostok, both for local residents and professionals. It included lectures, master classes and meetings with audiences after the performances, and enjoyed a great response from all the participants who flocked to Vladivostok from many cities and towns of the Far Eastern region.
In view of the great interest for the events of the Educational Programme, it was decided to carry it on from November 2021 for students of the Far State Institute of Arts (DVGII), under the aegis of the International Theatre School of the Pacific Theatre Festival. At that time, within the framework of this project, there were intensive courses on stage recital and stage movement. A year later, in November 2022, this work was continued by the Mikhail Milkis Laboratory, Pavel Rudnev’s online lectures on the current trends in contemporary Russian theatre, and Sergey Sotnikov’s intensive course on stage recital.
In 2023 a new Educational Programme for professionals, students and viewers forms a part of the Second International Pacific Theatre Festival. The programme traditionally comprises three elements, i.e. lectures, master classes and post-performance meetings with the public. Moreover, the residents of Vladivostok and guests will have a chance to get acquainted with the work of the International Theatre School of the Pacific Festival. On 25 September the Pushkin Theatre of the Far Eastern Federal University will be the venue for the premiere of About Love, directed by Mikhail Milkis and featuring 4th-year students of the Theatre Faculty of the Far Eastern Federal University. It is based on Edvard Radzinsky’s play 104 Pages About Love.
The main events of the Educational Programme of the International Pacific Theatre Festival will be held from 19 September till 7 October 2023, at the Pushkin Theatre of the Far Eastern Federal University, the organizing partner of the programme.
